Crypto veterans will remember Stake and Nodes. It was a great website which provided absolute transparency in the crypto area. It investigated many different crypto projects and revealed good and bad ones.
Right time – Right place
We, the makers of Stake and Notes 2.0, the GOSSIP Blockchain team, have thought long and hard about what we can do and what we need for the crypto world. The idea of creating a crypto project evaluation platform was born in March 2020. We have been working in the backend for about 8 weeks now and have thought about which data we need, how to get the data, how to store our data, there is a lot of planning work involved. But at some point the time has come where we want to present our results and evaluations, the frontend has to be built.
By chance we noticed that “Stake and Nodes” is no longer active and has been for quite a while. Silently and secretly the site had disappeared but we still remember the time when the service was active. The brand name is just great for this area. So it was obvious: This will be our name! Such great brand can’t be unused (or to be used from others).
Motivation for the work
It is the same today as it was then: there are some crypto projects (although not as many as in 2018). How should a non-professional know what is good and what is bad? You are in the discord chat of an absolutely dead project and ask the question: Are you alive? You will get the answer: Yes of course, why do you ask such a question?
Quality of the projects
Unfortunately, it’s the same here. Very often the quality delivered is very poor and does not meet the requirements of the free market in any way. There are many components here which represent the big picture. If you have high demands on yourself and your work, it is also easier to assess the quality of work of others in the same business.
Crypto ranking pages there are an insane number. The market leader is of course CoinMarketCap. CMC is really more than just a tracking site. They also have a ranking which is calculated from many factors. The many other pages are usually all the same: Price, volume, marketcap, ROI, number of master nodes and so on. This market is well saturated.
But what does not exist, because it is certainly much more complicated and costly, is the qualitative evaluation of crypto projects. What is going on behind the scenes? With which quality is the wallet software produced? Which tools are used to operate the blockchain infrastructure securely? This is exactly where we want to start.
And exactly this data cannot be queried with an API to calculate values. This is where expert knowledge and manual work is required.

What are we trying to achieve?
- An overview of different projects and the features which every project are used
- Ranking. Based on our collected data we want to highlight good projects and show projects that have very little understanding of business
- Tech Talk: Based on our results, we see that there is a lot of catching up to do in many technical areas in terms of technical knowledge
- Gossip about Crypto: gossip, news, interviews, opinions, self-written articel of projects. We want to show interesting and exciting news
Make better decisions
We want to transmit information that helps to make better decisions and spread knowledge. We love the idea of open source software and a lot of software is open source. Just use the possibilities.
open source software (OSS)
A method and philosophy for software licensing and distribution designed to encourage use and improvement of software written by volunteers by ensuring that anyone can copy the source code and modify it freely.
The term “open source” is now more widely used than the earlier term “free software” (promoted by the Free Software Foundation) but has broadly the same meaning – free of distribution restrictions, not necessarily free of charge.
We are pleased to be striving for this project. Questions, suggestions, complaints and also praise can be sent to us. Please use our contact form directly on the website. We are looking forward to hearing from you.
